THE NAME OF THE TRUST:
The name of the trust is DAV ALUMNI ASSOCIATION, BERHAMPUR (DAVAA).
THE OFFICE OF THE TRUST:
The registered office of the Trust is at DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL, SADANANDAVIHAR, GOSANINUAGAON,
BERHAMPUR and the offices may be changed to any place as will be decided
by the Executive board of trustees in the manner provided here-in- after.
MEMBERSHIP:
1. Every Men and Women who is/ was a student of the DAV Public School, Berhampur
and has attained the age of 18 years and agrees to abide by the rules and regulations
of the Organization and to pay the prescribed fee of Rs. 100/- shall be entitled
to become a member.
2. Membership of the Association is open to all former students, of Secondary, Senior
Secondary and even who left the school before10th class of the DAV Public School,
Berhampur.
3. Application for membership shall be made in the prescribed form signed by the
applicant accompanied by the requisite fee.
4. Membership in the Association shall be of the following categories:
i) "Founder Members" means those who took initiative in
the formation of the Association and paid the prescribed fee of Rs.5000/- to the
Association
ii) "Member" mean all former students, of Secondary, Senior
Secondary and even who left the school before10th class of the DAV Public School,
Berhampur
iii) "Honorary members" means the teaching staff of the
School. The General board of trustees may admit Honorary Members who are actively
engaged or employed in the In DAV Public School. Such Honorary members shall be
held office until they resign their membership or Left employment at DAV Public
School or removed by the Executive board of trustees as per rules.
5. Every member, other than honorary members, shall have a right to vote in the
meeting of the association.
6. The association shall maintain a register of members and it shall be open to
inspection by all members. (A list of all members of the Organization shall be maintained
and shall be open for inspection by the members and the office bearers of the Organization
between 6 to 8 p.m. provided a seven days notice is given for such inspection).
7. A member may resign from the association with 15 days’ notice.
BENEFIT AND FORFEITURES:
Any member of the Organization entitled to any of the benefits conferred by the
Organization under its Rules may make an application in writing, claiming such benefits
to the Secretary of the Organization, who shall forthwith place it before the Executive
board of trustees, the applicant shall have the right to appeal to the General board
of trustees of Executive board of trustees of the Organization, whose decision shall
be final.
With reference to the financial position of the Organization, the Executive board
of trustees shall decide from time to time the benefits to be given to the members.
A member shall be entitled to the benefits of the only if he has been a member for
at least six months and he has paid his subscriptions to the Organization upto date.
Any office-bearer or member of the Organization found working against the interest
of the Organization may be removed from the Organization or otherwise punished on
a resolution to that effect passed by Executive board of trustees meeting of the
Organization held for the purpose of which at least one half of the members of the
Organization are present and at least 60% that of those present vote in favour of
the resolution, provided that the members or office bearer concerned is given adequate
prior notice of the action proposed to be taken against him.
If a member goes on strike without the sanction of the Organization he shall not
be entitled to any benefits from the Organization from the date on which he has
so struck work. This is in addition to any other penalty which may be imposed on
him under the previous rule.
OBJECTIVES:
1. To facilitate interaction with and among alumni, To maintain & update the database
of all the alumni of the school & to interact with them, To arrange seminars, workshops,
cultural & social welfare programs;
2. To maintain website, publish periodical magazines or bulletins with valuable
information useful to the members & students, To promote social and cultural activities
of former and current students of the School;
3. To encourage and appreciate academic and other outstanding achievements of the
Teachers & Students, To establish endowments and scholarships;
4. To encourage participation in Alumni Relations programs, To award incentives/prizes
for outstanding contributions of students, To raise and administer funds for the
Association(contribution-collection);
5. To acquire hold and transfer properties both movable and immovable for the above
purpose, To extend an invitation to alumnae by sharing the values & support, competence
& strengths of one another in order to provide direction to move the organization
forward, and to provide financial support for the institution;
6. To act as a discriminating agency for transmitting knowledge, help the students
to find out job opportunities through placement cell and other academic works in
India and abroad;
7. To provide service to the people, Representing the interests of the alumni body
by gathering a voice for alumni & facilitating communication with the School, Creating
a culture of philanthropy among the alumni body, to ensure that alumni continue
to contribute their time, talent & financial resources to the betterment of the
school;
8. To take advantage of developing technologies like the Internet in achieving the
aims & objects of the Association;
9. Bring the old students of DAV Public School, (Berhampur) under one forum for
exchange of experience, To establish, maintain and assist educational institutions;
10. To establish, maintain and assist hospitals, nursing homes, diagnostic clinics
and laboratories, institutes of nature cure and the like, devoted to offering medical
care and attention, dissemination of knowledge and talents amongst its members and
also for the furtherance of fellowship, advancement of scientific knowledge in general
of the members of the Association and country;
11. To conduct seminars, conferences, workshops, endowment lectures and other academic
activities and also to keep in touch with one another of the Institutions/ University
faculty, non teaching staff and students;
12. To create and establish Alumni endowments for granting scholarships, prizes
and medals to the students showing high proficiency in their studies and honour
former students of the DAV Public School, (Berhampur) and other educational institutions;
13. To advise and interact with State and Central Government Bodies, Universities
and Associations of other academic institutions on matters relating to promotion
of higher education, training and management systems and thereby promote the welfare
and status of the educational institutions;
14. To collect funds by subscriptions, contributions, donations and gifts from members,
non-members, Governments, Universities and other institutions and philanthropists
for furtherance of the above objectives, Promotion of all kinds of activities leading
to physical and mental fitness through practices of arts and education or any other
field;
15. To bring together all the old students and the faculty of DAV Public School,
(Berhampur) to share their experiences with each other;
16. To maintain and update the data base of all the alumni and to interact with
them; To utilize the rich experiences of old students of the DAV Public School,
(Berhampur) for the benefit and progress of the present students;
17. To provide guidance to the present students in their endeavour for better employment
and higher studies;
18. To promote the campus placements through the old students working in reputed
industries in India and abroad, To get the valuable advices of the Alumni in the
overall development of the DAV Public School, (Berhampur);
19. To arrange seminars, debates, workshops and also to arrange cultural and social
welfare programs, To provide financial assistance to the needed alumni members pursuing
higher studies based on merit and means;
20. To arrange donations to the poor students either by way of cash or kind for
their education purpose, To maintain libraries, reading rooms, lecture halls, training
centres etc. useful to the members of the Association;
21. To arrange teaching and training classes to the students studying in DAV Public
School, (Berhampur) and also to the members to upgrade technical and general skills,
To gather and maintain database of employment information and to assist the members
in securing suitable jobs;
22. To maintain website, publish periodical magazines or bulletins with valuable
information useful to the members and students, To involve the members in the overall
development of the DAV Public School, (Berhampur);
23. To promote and improve the interaction between the current students and Alumni,
To organize and coordinate reunion activities of the Alumni regularly to strengthen
the professional network among Alumni;
24. To take opinions from the Alumni for the betterment of the institution, To correspond
all the activities of the DAV Public School, (Berhampur) to the Alumni regularly,
To encourage the Alumni to take an active interest and participate in the work and
progress of the Institute so as to contribute towards enhancement of the social
utility of their Alma Mater;
25. To utilize the professional knowledge of the Alumni by requesting to conduct
seminars, workshops on leading technologies, To take the help of the Alumni for
discussing any beyond syllabus content which will be useful to current students;
26. To establish and organize scholarship fund with the support of Alumni to help
needy and deserving students, To recognize outstanding social and community service
by the Alumni and the students;
27. To publish and circulate articles, news letters, journals, bulletins, that the
Association deems fit/desirable for promotion and furtherance of its objectives,
To promote a sustained sense of belonging to the Alma Mater among the Alumni by
being in regular contact with them;
28. To provide a forum for the Alumni for exchange of ideas on academic, cultural
and social issues of the day;
29. To provide and disseminate information regarding their Alma Mater, its students,
Faculties and students to the Alumni;
30. To carry out such other activities as may be necessary for furthering the above
aims and objectives.
